Title: new scheduling format
Post by: dagwood on April 26, 2018, 01:12:00 PM
Is anyone else having trouble scheduling routes with the new format? I have found that when the route to be scheduled is yellow, it is almost impossible to keep the pop up menu for that route open.

Please be a bit more specific on what you mean? (and what browser are you using)

Maybe what he means is following:
1. hover mouse of scheduling bar
2. wait there for about 3/4 of a second until the pop-up opens
3. move the mouse over the popup in order to access its choices (without the popup closing).

I found the challenge to be different, unrelated to whether the bar is blue or yellow.  The behavior is identical between the yellow and blue.

It has to do with where the popup opens relative to the mouse position (scheduling bar).  There are 3 options, and the distance between the mouse (bar on schedule is different.  Meaning in some cases mouse have to travel greater distance sometimes closing the bar.  So when the popup opens:
1, Above - distance is small, all is good
2, Below - distance is greater, it is more challenging to keep the pop up open when moving the mouse to it
3. To the left - same as #2

New vs. old:
1. same
2. got worse (became a little problematic)
3. same (has been a problem in the old version as well.  I meant to report it as a bug...

Examples (it does not show the mouse but I tried to highlight the distance from the bar I was hovering over):
(should probably be in the bug forum)

I have been meaning to bring that up too, but I always chalked it up to browser behavior because it reacted differently on different computers (desktop vs. laptop vs. tablet) with different monitor configurations.

Indeed I have all 4 position possible (left - right - below - above).
But the problem is still relevant, identical to the one detailed by Shrimp.

It is the same with all tooltips for me.

https://www.airwaysim.com/test.php  => Same effect here I suppose?

I see that the popup positioning is not very good causing too big gap between the box and popup, will see if that can be adjusted.

For me "Box on right" has the biggest gap. The other three are identical and I don't have any problem. The "box on right" one is kind of hard and I failed to keep the pop-up open the first two times.

Using Laptop and Opera browser.

Cheers,
Cedric

Hi,
I am using Firefox, version 59.0.2.

My problem is that no matter where I place the mouse pointer over the schedule bar, it is almost impossible to keep the pop up open.

Updated, try again.

(update affects all other pages, scheduling and all others too, so you might wish to try there)

Works fine for me on the test-page. Works 9 out of 10 on the actual scheduling page. I would be happy like that, but obviously my browser doesn't really have the issue as badly...

The test page works well for me.  The pop ups stay open while moving the mouse at normal speed.

New test page is OK, I can easily click on the link each time. Opera, 3200*1800.

Thanks, works.

Note: on your test page and with high res screen, the pop-up for below and above are displayed to the right.
