How about making a game where there is no end date? We can pay as we go.... maybe every year or so. This would be most realistic I think.
What year would it start? How fast would it progress? What would happen when it runs several years into the future with no info on new aircraft etc? Or do you mean it should run in real time?
EDIT: Wait, now I actually understand what you mean. You are thinking of a way of avoiding the "the end of the world is coming and everyone knows the exact date years in advance"-problem. I still don't think it's a good idea, with the current model people know what they are paying for and even if the exact end date wasn't announced everyone would still know the game doesn't last forever.

Then make an airlines that flies Cessna's and Beechcraft only.
Yes, a game world with no end would be best. Then maybe the makers can structure how frequent we buy credit. E.g every 3 months or whatever........ I feel this current set-up of a game world ending is rather frustrating. I just begun an airline two or three days ago and then I realized its ending in by tomorrow!!! Drastic!!
