Hi all,
Looking for some input here. I a few game ytears ago brought in a fourth fleet type in Embraers 120's to cover my smaller 30 seats or less routes where I thought an ATR-42 would be wasted. Anyway looking at a few things I am trying to find out how truly profitable these aircraft are. Does anyone have any way I can check and work out the net profit from these birds? The aim for me here folks is to increase my profit so I don't want to just abandon what looks like a very profitable aircraft for my airline. So in essence does anyone know a way of checking if a fleet type i really hampering my profits?
Additionally to that I believe on the fourth fleet type I have a penalty of around 25%. Is there a way to check which fleet type this is applying to?
Cheers,
Colin
Go to "My Aircrafts" and select "Fleet Commonality" in the dropdown menu. You will see the total costs per type.
Now regarding your issue...if you already have 3 fleet types, I would not open a 4th one unless you really need to do a fleet type replacement (changing one of the 3 fleet types by a new 4th one). I personally think flying a ATR42 on a 30-ish demand route is still more profitable than using a 4th fleet type. That would be called "over expansionism". More route or more pax does not necessarily mean more profits. Stick to routes you can fill and don't try to be bigger than you are. My guess is: Get rid of the EMB120 (those have no use in most situations) and stick to more useful fleet types. Normally you shouldnt go smaller than ATR42.
Thanks for the reply Andre. I will have a look at dumping the embraer routes and replacing with an ATR.
