When a used aircraft is leased - exactly what is the 2 weeks wait for?
Outside of administration (understandable) what gets done?
Realistically - why would it take a lessor longer to:
a. configure the aircraft? (takes 1 week infleet, they have 2, but take 3)
b. do a C check? (takes 3 weeks infleet, they have 2, but take 4)
Seems to me, once an aircraft is purchased, the leasing company could go to work and do whatever needs to be done to the plane, using the same time period for the paper shuffle as 2 weeks toward the necessary tasks.
Why wait for the initial 2 weeks to expire BEFORE starting the work?
No effective time or resource management apparently.
Just a question out of curiosity.
