How often are games done from the 50's to the 70's... I would like to get in on an early era game...
So far, none of the public games has been back in the 50's or 70's, all of them has started in the 90's.
I hope that this will change when the current games ends and everyone has had the chance of trying out the game in a "easy" time period.
I would like an earlier game, too. However, it seems that many players prefer more modern timelines, even games extending to the future have been discussed with surprising enthusiasm.
I'm not sure "modern times" are easy, I would venture to say they are rather challenging... of course I haven't played this sim yet so I don't know how things work.
But I like the nostalgia and courtesy of the older days. The Captain or First Officer would even greet every passenger coming aboard, instead of just sitting in the cockpit as everybody boarded. You could go to the the terminal gates and see your friends and loved ones off. Back then you actually got a meal on board... NOW... you even have to pay for soft drinks on many airlines... and on SOME airlines even for WATER!!! One is even wanting to charge to use the toilet for crying out loud!!! :o
And a BIG reason for me is, I think the aircraft... for lack of a more descriptive word... were sexier. Each design had it's it's own look... today, they all look pretty much the same. Airlines then were customer oriented...Today CRJ's are flying routes that SHOULD have an MD80 or 737 on it... because they can do it more economically... a 3 or 4 hour flight on a 737 is VASTLY more comfortable in a 737 and an MD80 than it is in a CRJ!!!
It's just me... but I think when the games are put out, a little variety of time periods would be nice!! :)
