So I always had this problem: In the beginning of a new GW I lease some old birds with let's say ~70% condition for 2-3 years to get things started. But my punctuality rate is 50% and my cancellation rate 8%. Due to technical problems. How can I get my aircrafts into better shape? Obviously I have A/B checks on a weekly basis.
Select Aircraft -> Maintenance Actions -> Extra Maintenance
Thanks! Given that I don't do that, the condition should slightly increase week by week I hope?
Yes, it improves slightly, week to week.
I use to buy planes at 60-70% condition on the UM, the price is half the one of a 95% one.
I then make an extra c-check, and sometimes an extra b-check, right as it is delivered. In the end, for a 100% condition plane, I paid no more than 2/3 of the regular price ;D
Instead, if you go with the "classical" extra-maintenance - repair to condition of ...%, it costs you much more, and the plane stays on the ground for the same duration.
But if you leased it first, remember to buy before doing so, as a fixed plane will have a normal price.

Yes... but it depends on how high you want the condition of the aircraft vs how long to remain on the ground as it relates to the total cost.
There's balance to how long you want the aircraft on the ground and how much your willing to pay. Sometimes its cheaper to restore a 65% aircraft to 75% for 1 day on the ground. Then do an A check the day after it gets out to bring it to 80%+ condition for basically only 1 full day on the ground. Thus spending 50k or some very small amount instead of the cost a full C check (or some amount similar).
I do this alot at the start of a new game world when you have to be creative and resourceful on the UM.
