Title: Any help?!
Post by: Bettyb on March 12, 2009, 09:40:15 AM
Got a 1 aircraft (757) airline with just 1 longish haul route everyday (EGNT to OMDB)
The plane is running at 81% Y and 61%C which is ok i think, and makes a profit of over $43,000

However my bank balance is -$2million ish and just doesnt seem to improve. How can making over $40000 run at a loss?!

Any help?

You have also other, indirect costs, like staff training, marketing etc. which cannot be tied to the profits of the routes. (And actually the aircraft is NOT making profit overall if you open the detailed aircraft view.)

--> office - income statement

40 grand is a bit pants for a 757, try put it on two routes a day rather than the one long one, try perhaps the canary islands or something. you should be aiming for about 80,000 at least.

I agree, I am making $40,000 a day with some of my 100 seat Bae146's... lots of short flights instead of one long one seems best way to rake the cash in

True true. One of my F100s makes alomst 70k a day. 757s should be making at least 80k if not more.
