Mery Christmas and a Happy New Year to you Sami and everyone who plays this excellent game.
Got to say I (and others) are rightly a bit brassed off at this. You announced this at the last minute on Christmas Eve when many (like myself) were travelling, with family and not around to log on, and to make matters worse the code expired before Christmas day ended in a lot territories.
In Newfoundland it's 9pm. In Seattle it's 4:30pm. In Hawaii it's 2:30pm. W can e talk of ethnocentricm, this offer is Europecentrism.
Smacks of an offer you didn't want people to be able to take up, and cynical ploy on your part. Boo you.
Maybe a simple request to extend the offer for 24 hours would be more helpful and we'll received in this case?

Hmh, what? Seriously?
The christmas code has been
always a short one or two day sale. And same this year too, ~1.5 days. And all operations happen on UTC time here (server on UTC time, game start times announced on UTC time etc) since it is the universal time, so that's why also the ending was on 25th 23.59 UTC.
But let's see if there's some code for the New Year's. ;D
Im being deadly serious. The code was blink and you miss it, and a serious disadvantage to those in North America, travelling on Christmas eve.
