In real life: Waiting for Singapore Airlines to replace their 747-400 on the JFK-SIN routes.
In game: waiting for game world that will enable us to operate this airliner...
Real Life: Emirates JFK-DXB
I wouldn't hesitate paying to play a game that goes into the future. For the most part, we know what aircraft are coming out in the next decade don't we? A little fantasy into shaping what the airline industry will look like wouldn't hurt. 2005-2020ish would be awesome. Maybe even going later, 2025?
That way people could get good use out of the A380s and 787s.
I agree with isuzu777 !! Totally :)
----
There is an other airline in game 2 trowing money away...
it ordered 2 A380s :-\
Airbus A380
Aircraft model Pending orders Airline Engines
#1 Airbus A380-800 1 Sbooby Airways 4x Rolls-Royce Trent 900
#2 Airbus A380-800 1 Sbooby Airways 4x Rolls-Royce Trent 900
Is it a special stategy to order aircraft you wont be able to use??
If yes, tell me please... 8)

(Respecting other players!! everybody is free to do what he wants...
but I just dont understand it ?!?!)

And maybe Sami can implement feature that players can give money to others
if they got to much... :P
Serious: Maybe its not a bad idea to have a feature that players can take
out loans by others... with intrest and everything
- what do you think?
I think thats a great idea iCook.... where do i sign to recieve the 50mil your giving me intrest free?

HAHAH :P
I get to see it everday, but then I do work for Airbus. Just been in the mock up this morning, never been in it before.
Have flown on it 3 times now (LHR-SIN/SIN-LHR/JFK-DXB), and it truly is by far the most comfortable aluminum tube currently plowing the skies. Even the 15 hour DXB-JFK didn't kill me, but nothing short of a private G-V will ever make a 15 hour flight pleasurable.
As for a game that stretches into the future, oh yes, please sign me up! 1980 to 2020 would do the trick for me.
No fuel data for 2020.
Erm then.. No accurate data for planes during 2012-2020 :D?
Like I said, fantasy can be used to "make-up" some data, I think players will understand and accept this for the chance to play a game into the future.

Yep. Fully support this idea to go into the future. I hope AWS can be different from other airline sims where admins don't allow games to go into the future. sami, your view? ;D
What do you think of modeling current crisis i the game?
Abt future: may be it is possible to make 5-6-7 variants of fuel prices. Like the bad, the worst, the most worst.
abt planes - not to invent anything. on the other hand the game was planned to be as close to the real world as possible.
(...and i am still waiting for the next demo...)
With different fuels now emerging on the market, this is next to impossible.
The only larger plane under development/in production that you would see there is the 787 Dreamliner and A380.
What other planes are there that you could incorporate?
I wouldn't be surprised if using pictures/names/descriptions of the real life planes is already violating trademarks. I really highly doubt that Boeing wants us to make up their next planes for them.
Heck, in 2020, why not have space travel? Get those flights that leave LA, enter near orbit and land in London in 3 hours. Really high cost, but you can charge like 20x expected.
I'm in, fo show!!!!

I like that idea! Also flights to space stations in orbit and on the Moon.
How bout light speed travel, just kidding LOL ;D

Go see the movie Airplane 2
I was thinking about the beginning of the movie 2001, but I suppose Airplane 2 is a similar "realistic" depiction of commercial space travel.
Airplane 2 realistic? HA!

Airbus A350?
Launching in 2014-ish. It won't steal the limelight from the 787, but as 787 wait times are so long, the A350 can be a viable alternative. By that time, the A330 will be getting very old and many airlines will want to dump them anyway.
Asiana, the airline that my Mercy Airlines (Game 2, just bankrupt) was loosely based on, will get 30 of the A350s. Asiana currently flies 6 A330s and 7 767s, all of which will need to be replaced by then, if not earlier.
I'd prefer to see further developments of the A320/B737 platform as well as the E170/E190 platform... Though the 777, even with its lengthy waitlist, will remain my favorite.
Gwa
The A350 is not, however much it's been touted by those less-in-the-know, a competitor to the B787. It's a 777 killer. If Boeing does decide to launch the -10 version of the B787 then the two would be in competition, but the thing is that a B787-10 would effectively (in combination with the A350-900) kill the B777. Boeing is, understandably, a tad reluctant to kill their B777 cashcow.
As for modelling these aircraft, even lacking actual emperical data, enough information is available from the manufacturers to model them close enough for a game like this.
Other future aircraft that could be incorporated in a 1980-2020 game are the MRJ, C-series, A380-900, ARJ, SSJ-100/130 & B747-8.
Another feature which could be incorporated is winglet installation on B737 classic, B757 & B767. Data for this is already available.
But, most of all, what I'd personally like to see is the incorporation of freighter aircraft. I've been a freightdog most of my professional life, and feel that no airline simulation game would be complete without freighters.
This could be further expanded on, by incorporating PTF (Passenger-to-freighter) conversion programmes. Imagine that - taking your old 747s, A300s, 757s etc out of passenger service and convert them into freighters. Would add several new dimensions to the game.
