Title: a little help with scheduling
Post by: carloscarlos on March 06, 2009, 07:56:21 PM
hi everyone....

for the 1st time after a few attempts i managed to start getting some profit out of my plane. yes because last time i added 1 more plane to the fleet, just wasnt making enough profit, and as i had a C check comming, not having another plane to swap with the 1  that needed maintenance for those 2 weeks, would mean, bankrupt. so i didnt wait for it and started over. i am now making profit at around $120 000 a week out of a 757 200. dont know if it is much but from the 3 routes i have...brings $$$ in!

my query is, say i have scheduled all the checks A B, to a monday. as the B check is only done once a month, is there any way i can schedule it in a way that i can still use the plane on that monday!?

hope you guys understand what i mean.

thank you for the game

carlos

You have to leave a space in the weekly schedule only for the A check. The B check takes all day and you can schedule flights during that day, they will be automatically canceled once a month when the plane goes into maintenance.

they are scheduled so they don't count as a cancellation.

thank you...that will be around 30000 more per day....

but can some1 explain me why, when i got the 2nd plane a q400 leased, that was making profit, in the end of the week id be getting less money then if i had just the 757?!? cos like that it is nearly impossible to increase the amount of planes!

When starting out it is very important to stick to just one type of plane because of fleet commonality.

well...i will have to wait a while then till i can manage to lease another 757, so i can get the second one! although one thing i have noticed was that on the income statment, on aircraft leases, with the 757 only it showed nothing, only the 1st 4 months and that was it, when i got the q400 that field would always have around 200000 in it!

one more thing.

before i declared bankrupcy, a airline that started after me by 2 real days, on the same hub, flying the same routes as me, managed to get have 4x 737s already while i only managed to keep the 757, then leased the q400, then declared bankrupcy. this took me 5 days (real time) how can some1 on the same routes generate such an amount of profit to lease 4 jets and 2 props?!
