There seems to be an inconsistency between the Business Class seating capacity B737-900 and 900ER...
The former is 180Y, the latter 186Y. With standard C and Y seats a configuration of 168Y, 10C will be accepted on the -900. However the 900ER will not accept 174Y, 10C, despite having enough extra room for it. To get 10C, you must go down to 168Y, which is no improvement on the -900. Why is this?
