Title: Demand Anomaly
Post by: ManAtTheBack on March 13, 2016, 02:01:30 PM
Whilst researching new routes in Beginner's World 1, I noted that demand from Hong Kong (HKG) to Cebu (CEB) was 200 per day.  I placed an 192 seat A321 on the route, as the only service. Ideal I thought.

However, I got an oversupply warning.  Investigating I found that on the return CEB - HKG, the demand is 40 per day.  How can such differences occur? Is there a mass emigration from Hong Kong to Cebu?

Frustratingly, one can only block the same number of seats both outbound and return.  Thus I am forced to block confirmed demand on the outbound sector to meet the oversupply rule on the return?

Does the oversupply rule average the outbound and return sectors, or is each sector calculated separately?

this is one of the known issue in aws... there are specific route pairs having different level of demands... And my understanding is there will be no fix as it will be corrected when city based demand is deployed.
