Title: Money Never Increases
Post by: RisteMakedonski on February 18, 2009, 07:30:26 PM
Here are the profits of my airplanes:

52 745 USD
Boeing 737-400

38 446 USD
Airbus A310-300

14 451 USD
Saab 340A

14 438 USD
Saab 340A

My total money never goes higher than $600 000. One day I make money, the next day I lose it, the day after that I make money again. Any ideas as to why this is happening?

The profits do not include staff, marketing and certain fixed fees as they cannot be broken down to separate individual aircraft. The a/c profits contain the insurances, leases, and route incomes/costs.

You need to see Office for more detailed stuff.

(btw. are you really operating only 4 aircraft which are 3 different types?)

Yes, one longhaul type, one mediumhaul, and one shorthaul. I saw a post you made somewhere and you said you should have one type of  aircraft for each "haul".

That's in the long run. When you are starting your airline, stick with one type of aircraft to keep the costs down (=fleet commonality).

I just quickly skimmed over the manual and it said to have 20 identical airplanes lol.

I have a question. I have a 737-400 and they are hard to come across in the used market. Would having other 737 models be ok for fleet commonality?

The deciding factor here is fleet group. You can see it on the aircraft info pages near the top. 737-400 belongs to fleet group "Boeing 737-300/400/500" so you could also get -300 and -500 models.
