Hi there,
I read on the board that weather delay is more likely in winter than it is in summer.
But I'm curious: Is weather delay also depending on the location of DEP and ARR airport itself? For example if I only operate domestic UK routes, will I have more weather delay than an airline that operates only domestic Egyptian routes?
Yes, delay based on wx is calculated based on season and location too. Four seasons and five global weather regions - all of them have different settings for delay probabilities.
Fun fact: I have an airline in the Maldives and my airline's punctuality is one of the highest in that GW and, half of the reason is because of its location. Also it helps by turning them around fully which further decreases delay chances.
