Hi Sami,
when is proposed start date of the game.
Also have a few questions for you, before that i would like to say "GREAT JOB SO FAR", a lot of detail in the game, a lot of info too, GOOD WORK , KEEP IT UP
now the questions bit;
How and when can we select our base, also wat happens if others players have selcted same base (>2)?
Do we get a intial startup amount or make it through bonds, loans and investments?
Do we get to choose our base airport or we select what is avilable (or leftover)
Also noticed in few screenshots that 737-200/300 min turnaround time of 35 mins, In real world low cost airlines have 20 min turnaround and can we change it accordingly or is it set to default.
Hope to hear from you soon,
more questions on its way ;D
regards
VJ
Heya,
You can freely select any airport as your base. You must of course do it when joining the game.. There is a "base selector" tool where you can browse all the airports and view their data and also see which other airlines are based there. There is no limit how many airlines can be based at a single airport but as a player I'd naturally like to select an airport that is big and has no other airlines.
If you've made a mistake in the base selection, there is ONE chance to change it during the game. This must be made within 3 months of game time onc you've joined the game. And it will cost some game money too to your company (to move the office and things to new city).
The initial money is the same for all (plain cash), set for each game and it's different depending of the start year.. Something around $5 million for example if game starts in >2000 (about enough to lease a couple of old jets). There is a very simple loan system which you can also use.
For the turnaround times. I really do not believe that it is possible to turn a fully loaded 737 (~110-140 pax) in less than 40 minutes. If you have cleaning and perhaps even catering there too (though it's naturally quicker if you just disembark, clean and board new pax). Even ATR72 (68pax) was rather hard to turn in 20 minutes in our domestic (real-life) routes, and that schedule usually caused delay. Of course it really depends on how the company operates and how the cleaning etc is arranged and especially the lcc carriers tend to rush the pax which makes it faster.. ;)
Hey Sami,
thnaks for the quick reply.
few more questions
Is there a option for selling tickets, diff channels like own website, 3rd party website and travel agents , is yes can we set up commisson levels and incentives etc
Also vendors for fuel, do have many suppliers or just one flat supplier, do we get choose? ie: shell, texaco, bp, air liquide etc etc
So game is day on day basis , hw many hours do we need to put in everyday, or once the setting is done its locked for a set period of time
regards
VJ
For those two, both are "no". Fuel pricing is simplified, though it can be customized very carefully for each game, and it also follows the real world pricing but so far the fuel price is the same all around the world. But that could be improved in the future. For tickets, there's one fixed price for each travel class. The different sales channels are also important so that's a thing for the future too.
Game works on "accelerated real time", meaning that one game day takes some 20-40 minutes (depending on game settings), so one game month goes by in a real day or so (speed can be also set for each game). You don't need to visit the game every (real) day as there are some automated features that can take care of the maintenance and other things if you wish to use them.
Can we hedge fuel?
How is the time and years gonna work?

Hate to disagree, but im going too. When i was on work experiance and out on the ramp, we was turning around 767 with loads of 95%+ in less than an hour....Infact, the record of the week was 47 minutes, but due to engineer arguing with captain it took another 5 minutes. So yeah, im preety sure that it is possible to turn a 737 in 30 mins and turboprops in upto 20 mins.

Southwest flips their 737s in about 20-25 minutes, so it can be done.
20-25 minutes at the gate is not the same as 20-25 minutes from touchdown to takeoff.
Ah man I can't wait to start beta testing. All the talk about the game is so exciting. ;D
