have you seen the aircraft market for game 3, a fair few airlines going belly up, store your cash people!
Maybe just people getting bored and starting again? I dont know though, I'm not in Game 1, but I did recently restart in the beta challenge because I got bored.
Game 1 has had a significant drop in activity from a full game of 350 down to 285 (current as of this post). A drop of 65 or 19%!

Yes, it has happened in almost every game we've played. As airlines go bust, the player either starts at a small open airport or goes to another game. The main reason is competition in big airports. At this point in the game (3yrs+), its futile to start at a big city. 9 out of 10 times you'll just die a slow and painful airline death.
At the end of game 1, I think we'll see 190-210 people still in it. So.. we still have 85 or so airlines to go bust ;)

I don't see why this is bad for me :p Means more airplanes available on the used aircraft market :P
well i have found as the game gets really into it the costs go up and profit tends to go down, especially when people fight over slots
and don't forget those profits going down becuase of those c&d checks kicking in, i have on average 2-4 per month coming into the workshops so not only am i paying for this maintainance but also factor in the lost revenue whilst they're on the ground.
certainly i will be paying closer attention to keeping downtime to minimum.
