I had a plane due for a C check on lease, so I was going to break the lease and send it back so I wouldn't have to pay for it. I was biding my time until I had enough dough to do that.
I just got this message:
We have scheduled automatically a heavy maintenance check (C check) to your Tupolev Tu-154A aircraft (N001KK) before it expired, according to your instructions. A sum of 2 210 600 USD has been deducted from your account.
How can I disable C checks?
Game info -> Airline settings -> Maintenance settings
If your question is can you abort the maintenance that has already begun and get your money back, I believe the answer is no.
No. The money is lost. I understand that.
What I am asking is where I would go to disable C checks. I don't HAVE to have A or B checks if I don't schedule them. What about C checks?
Just that menu what he posted in his reply..
Thank you. I didn't see that.
What are the ramifications for not maintaining my plains? Do I run the risk of being the next ValuJet? Literally, since my airline is based in Atlanta and we fly over the Everglades on a number of our flights.
I can tell you what happens: A guy comes and goes a gate checks and fines you for operating a unmaintained airplane. Then he tells everyone and your reputation goes down. FYI, once your reputation is shot, everything -- EVERYTHING goes to hell. I can tell you this because I ran an airline with 120 planes and poof it was gone in about 1 month.
Quote2 210 600 USD
sweet jesus! no wonder you dont want to C check that bad boy!
Heh, thats nothing. I've already paid for a few D checks on my owned and younger 747SRs. Some as high as 15M.
Of course, its no biggie for me. There owned, for at least 5 years. Of which they have made back 5-7x there acquisition costs. 15M costs vs 500m profit? Heh, small price to pay.
