Title: Missed maintenance on grounded aircraft
Post by: jamestbailey on August 21, 2013, 12:01:56 PM
Am I ok not maintaining aircraft with "empty" schedules notwithstanding repeated yellow box warnings?
Can't take the CI hit at the moment!
(Did a search for the answer to this unsuccessfully)

Thanks
Jimbo.

Yellow warnings where?

If a plane isn't flying, no need to schedule A + B checks. You can just leave the schedule empty, and B-check it when you start/resume flying it.

You can do the same with C-checks by switching off the option to do heavy maintenance automatically, but you need to be very careful doing that, as it's easy to end up flying a plane with an expired C-check for a month, and half-trashing it.

Idle planes dont need A+B

Like said above... be very careful turning off auto heavies....   not a good idea unless you live on AWS.

Many thanks.

The yellow box warning appear on the dashboard shortly after a newly delivered (but unscheduled) aircraft arrives.

Don't recall ever seeing that sort of warning on the dashboard. Only a red box for planes actually flying with A or B checks slightly expired.

If you are warned, you can click onto it and get closer information about which aircraft and why you are warned.
Please give informations about those items so we don“t have to guess what is was.
