Title: Passengers traveling with Train?
Post by: F.Soller on March 11, 2008, 08:17:39 PM
Hi,

if i like to model a LowCost Carrier, will the passengers travel to/from the citys to the "not main airports" of the City?
Like from Berlin SXF to XXX instead of Berlin TXL to XXX ? Maybe Like the concept of Ryanair or EasyJet ?

greetings from germany

what does this have to do with train? ;D

Well, as of now, you can have "low-cost" carriers...... but its more like "low fare"  airlines putting more capacity on routes. 8)

Nope. As I said. You can undercut competition with multiple frequencies and low fares, which in-turn add higher costs. :)

Each airports data is based on real world passenger amount and they also include passengers travelling by train/bus etc. from nearby cities. This means you can't build a low cost imperium to a "not-main-airport" which has practically no traffic in the real world without lowering your ticket prices unreasonably. Real world vs the game comparison is very difficult. If ie. in the real world from Matlandia Airport operates low cost carrier with 10 million passengers / year, you can operate a normal airline from the same airport with normal ticket prices and still have the same passenger amounts. Currently low cost carriers just can't survive in AirwaySim, because you can't go to smaller airfield with no passengers and at a bigger airport it's more profitable to run normal airline.

Just some thoughts.....  ::)

HAHA! that's funny.....and also, why can't low-cost airlines survive? i was planning on 30 (!!!!!) different low-cost carriers.....owwwhhhhhhwhwhw
