Thats because no one ever bothered to order it! As far as I remember NASCAR operate two of them here in the USA, since no operator ordered them it never recieved TYPE CERTIFICATION. However it would have come very easily had someone ordered it.

lol, me too.

Frankly, I think the bird has some great potential.  It's faster than hell, holds 50, and doesn't burn or cost like a CRJ.

I'm counting on it to be able to take over my F50 routes, plus add 1 route per day......

Yep. Its a great sleeper aircraft.

Sure its fuel burn is more then a Dash or ATR.. but in the right config.. you can squeeze 1300nm+ out of it. Combine that with the speed and flying longer then "normal" regional routes is not bad at all  ;)

Besides.. we are still years from the launch of CRJ7s and 9s. Not to mention the E-Jets that come even later. So an aircraft with decent range + speed will have a use for the next couple of years ^_^

I think there was a problem with the tail (or something) and because of that it didnt get its certification in the U.S €.If im not tottaly wrong saab had gotten orders from U.S carriers. Saab corrected the problem but it was too late so U.S carriers canceled their orders. Anyway its a wonderful airplane to fly (so ive heard) and for maintenace also.
