Been looking around and have noticed that there are some airlines that create a new route for each day of the week they fly to an airport and then other that just create 1 route to fly all days of a week etc.
What's the reason behind this? Did a search of the forums but wasn't able to find anything on it?

Do a search for seven day scheduling, there's plenty of discussion about it.
That's what we call 7 day schedule
For a long haul route which total time > 24 hours, it is impossible to do the "all day a week", so we have to break the flights into each individual one, and schedule to 7 different A/C
Another reason why people do 7 day schedule is to tightly squeeze as many flights as possible in the planes, and make a most utilization rate
