For awhile I've notice that employees are paid at noon on Tuesdays. What if one hour before payroll I cut wages to zero. Then at 1pm I raised the back to where they were? Could I run my airline this way?
I think people have done this successfully, but unless you have no life and visit AWS every Tuesday at noon it won't make much of a difference.
Cutting wages results in a morale hit. Restoring wages won't restore morale to where it was. Might be a way to save money for a couple of weeks, but you could have serious staff morale problems.

I tryed this in a test game... You can save the money 1 week, then you must raise salaries up to half the bar to restore morale to 100... at week n° 2 you have to raise salaries to the maximum (it doesn't matter cause you don't pay them anyway right ?)... but at week n° 3 there's no more bar to raise salaries, so morale drops to 50... at week n° 4, morale is on the floor (with no way to raise it cause salaries are already at the maximum), and almost all your flights are cancelled.. you are BKed :P
If you dismiss everybody every tuesday at 11:59, and hire all new people at 12:01 you have the same effect...

The question is not, if it is possible or not. This behaviour would be definitely cheating and should lead to immediate closure of your account.
I can´t believe this topic is seriously debated by experienced players in the first place.
Really people? Working on scamming the game? All of these actions will kill Morale (NOT MORAL PPL!) and/or CI. Either way, saving a few bucks won't help ya.

No. It should not. It's not cheating, it leads to severe penalties (CI/Morale) as the experienced players pointed out.

IF that would work (but it won't so it's a moot point), and someone would use it to gain unfair advantage in the games, then yes, it would be classified without a question as direct cheating or abusing the system which will lead to termination of the account. No need to even speculate on that, as it's a no-brainer really. (and does apply to any similar cases in other features too!)
Don´t ignore the second part of Sami´s response. It is trying to cheat. And please think again if stupid actions to outcheat game mechanisms
for better results are OK IF they work unnoticed. They are not. Never. Thank you,Sami for pointing that out.
