Title: Mentors
Post by: Ricademus on October 14, 2012, 07:26:02 PM
I am a very new player to this and so far have had five attempts at playing here. My first four attempts all ended up bankrupt. I am at last making a profit in the fifth attempt. I have asked for a mentor five times so far and I am still waiting, I read the manual about this as well and yet no replies to my asking, why is this?

Because mentors are real people doing this voluntarily.

To give you some help to start with:
1) Kabul isn't a very good airport. It has not enough demand.
2) Try aircraft with more than 80 pax first.

You should also read the FAQ:

There are simply more requests pending than mentors available.
But how come you bankrupted 4 times during one week ?
Have you read the manual and the available FAQ´s ?

never lease any aircraft that is less then 60 seat, also stick to 1-2 fleet group(not 3) at the beginning, you have BAC One-Eleven 475, Embraer EMB and the 727... when you get the 727 make sure you fill them with route that provide enough demand. and then get more 727's.(I am aware 727 is not the best plane for starter but that is probably the best plane to invest to get you out of the hole since you BK'ed 4 times, also get the adv).
The guides in general forum is a little bit more direct then the faq made by sami(despite they are old). But they should be more then enough for anyone to start. Good luck

If you have specific questions, don't hesitate to ask here. You might not have a personal mentor, but you have lots of friendly and skilled people here and get many good answers. :) See this as an advantage.
