This is not really a feature request so i am posting here. Can the rules for airlines being shut down by the bank be changed. It allows airlines that have no chance to hang around way to long. For example a player in one of my games has a d rating and -500 million CV with a -100 CI. He has been like this for days. He should have been shut down a long time ago instead he is taking some of my PAX away. Yes i know it is a small amount since he has a -100 CI but it is still taking some. It happens when guys are still around 30 CI but a neg 100 million cash and d rating. You should not be able to drag BK out this long.
My guess is that, the guy "forget" to schedule checks, CI then drop lead to less customers flying, and bleeding cash
When both CV and Cash go below 0, the airline is given 7 real days to "fix" the problem. Until then, the bank will take over and shut down the airline
I understand your point, but don't you think it would be fair to give players that much time to fix their problem?
Cheers
There's a point of no return and it's often reached several days before the airline is shut down from the system.
Real-life airlines and companies in financial trouble sometimes also drag it out for a long time before finally going boom or getting shut down.
Yes, it is annoying. But technically, gameplay strategy is not supposed to be based on forcibly BK'ing competitors. So, given a choice between (a) giving the financially distressed company some extra time / chance to try to turn it around, or (b) helping out the financially successful competitor a little earlier by giving him the benefit of his competitor's BK, I think (a) is the more important consideration.
As long as the company is trying, though. If they simply stop logging in after seeing a bankruptcy warning, maybe the timeframe should be shortened to 5 days or something. But as long as they are logging in, I think they should get the full 7 days. Especially, players who are in alliances that they have previously contributed to can often be bailed out of seemingly impossible situations, through (costly) assistance from their alliance mates.
Personally, some of us work long weeks I've gone 5 days before we can login, we also pay Real money to play. I dont see how shortening the time frame to BK helps those of us that dont have internet access 24/7.
firing all your staff with a D rating and negative cash to prolong is one thing I would see as an immediate BK a plus here..., I understand your concerns but whats 2 more real days, when its a new player trying options he does not know will not work yet.
you were new too once and probably tried to stave off the inevitable too.
sit back grab a beer and enjoy the lawn dart show...
When the BK message appears there are two possibilities:
1) It was a temporary problem like purchased aircraft came in but you were short of money - however, your airline is big and wealthy so money comes in.
2) Your airline is in a poor state.
If 1) occurs the message won't harm you. If 2) occurs you can have one day, seven days or 150 years time - it doesn't matter. Your airline is busted.
It's not against new people or people who can't login frequently. It's simply against those -100CI -xxxMillion Dollar airlines that hang around for seven days.
I guess i do not know exactly when they went negative in cash and got bankruptcy warnings. But i wonder why someone needs 7 days when there is no way to come back. These are my 2 competitors in DFW that i am talking about
Company A: -1 114 456 049 USD value he owns 2 a 319's. To me it is almost impressive to see this far - with only 2 planes owned. He told me yesterday or the day before he has not logged in for some time(for this game world) because it was pointless.
Company B:-684 661 599 USD owns nothing. This had been Neg shorter then company a but still pretty impressive to be this far Neg.
Obviously they are not really affecting me too much it is just crazy that they can stay in the game when there is no chance to come back. Their biggest impact now is i want their planes. ;D
And to the point about me trying to BK them, I didn't do anything to BK them other then open a base and open a few routes. Maybe 10 planes worth and they started to crumble. Half of those had no competition on the routes. These were poorly run companies. Now if i opened a base in JFK and some certain player BK'ed. Then i would say that may be intentional. ;)
