This is the first time I played AirwaySim. AMCON Airways
i have played the Beta's from beta 2 onwards, Dublin is not the biggest airport to fly out of and not much long haul so im doing quite well, so is eire jet who is a good player.
Had a look at nr 1 airline and he has the whole part of that world to himself!
Value can be decieving, because once a large aircraft lease order is placed the value plumits right back down, i think the top few airlines are starting to now buy their fleets as the cash levels are high.
i think there should be a more solid statistic for Top airlines, hard to figure out which one is best, perhaps transported passengers is a good one but still not conclusive enough.
Well at the end of the game the airlines owning the most aircrafts will be rated the most valuable... which makes sense, since a company that only leases dont have any value except image and passengers and slots.... i got today my first two owned aircrafts.
And you can make extra cash by leasing the planes out to other airlines too.. (your own ones only of course)
And this list is not good, as for example i was on that list. But leased couple planes more and nyt my company value puts me to place 349 or something like that.
Top airlines have to look with other factors.

Not exactly. Airplanes are NOT nearly as valuable to an airline as market share (i.e. the gates, slots, and pax you mentioned). With those 3, you don't need airplanes. Doesn't matter if they are leased or owned. And the argument of leasing vs. owning is fairly evenly matched.
Value, to me, is all about revenue and cash on hand. If I have $100 million in monthly revenue, done entirely with leased planes---are you really going to tell me that I'm less valuable than someone with $1 million in monthly revenue who owns say, 3 planes? No way.

And the difference between leasing 5 767-300ER (for seven years) or buying them is something like 40 000 000 USD and thats not much in the long run!
I never played beta and am currently ranked 19th for value, having just jumped up about 20 places.
That aside, there is no good measure of an airline's worth that I can see. Airline Value is especially deceptive, however. When you order an aircraft you spend a big chunk of money and recieve the promise of an aircraft in return. That promise should probably be valued at an amount equal or near equal to the amount originally spent. Would add some stability to the airline value category, which is just a bunch of random names from the top 100 at the moment.

Yeah, I'm pretty much abusing the game. I've been here since pre-beta, so I had a clue what to do.
Luckily for you I don't have time to really expand, I just made my position comfortable to see where the game is going ;)
its a good move, Europe is starting to get CROWDED!
When did I have that much money spare? :-[ Obviously not spending it quickly enough.
Played in betas, but this is my first time in South America. Sao Paulo is not one of the biggest airports out there, but I'm trying a new strategy and like to learn new things. There is really no proper ordered list of "top players", but looking at all the lists you get a good general idea who are in the same category as you. Later in the game the value list will tell more, when airlines begin to gather their assets and lease out their planes (that's when all the slots are gone and there's no good routes to fly).
