Title: Route Problem
Post by: aland on July 13, 2012, 11:16:49 PM
I want to open a route from Sao Paoulo-Guarulhos to Bangkok-Don Muang (SBGR-VTBD). The route distance is 8850NM and my aircraft with the longest range is an a310-300 with a range of 5100NM. As the aircraft did not have the required range I scheduled a stopover in Harare-Kutsaga(FVHA) in Kenya. The distance between SBGR and FVHA is 4315NM and the distance between FVHA and VTBD is 4535.Both legs are under 5100NM but still I still get a message saying that I do not have any aircraft in my fleet that would be capable of flying this route.
Why is this?
Thanks,
Alan

Check the runway length at your stopover. It may be too short for your plane.

Did you schedule the stopover on the return leg too?

I don't have gameworld access to DOTM (which is where I assume you're asking the question about). But in general, ultra long haul routes, especially those knocking on the door of 9000nm are impossible to turn a profit on and I would advise against bothering unless you've really got nothing left to do with that plane...

Thanks the problem was that I didn't schedule a stopover on the return leg too.
I am just waiting for the lease on the plane to expire so i'll just give it a go.
Thanks
