Are the tech stops only for refueling? As when I went to do a tech stop from my base to do a flight into America, I checked the route projection and it gave it from where my tech stop was and not directly from my base. Thanks
Tech stops are for refuelling only. Only thing that counts is demand from home base to final destination.

You are paying the normal landing fees (etc) at techstop too, but not passenger fees as they do not disembark. Techstops do not incur slot costs (since they do not require slots, for simplicity).
Are
normal Landing fees same at all size airports or should I tech stop at smaller airports?

They are relative to airport size and plane MTOW
