Post by: john_bradley on January 17, 2009, 07:35:31 AM
i was wondering why is there staff training expense every week?... it makes sense if there is staff training for newly employed staff or once a month or so... but every week??

I will give you a scenario and you will then understand why it is weekly and not monthly:
Mr Smith applied to become a pilot on December the 2nd and got accepted to "ABC airlines". Mr Smith asked the employer when can he start? The employer answered "we need to train you to use that specific airplane first but unfortunately we do the training only once a month, on the 1st of every month"

Don't know if this makes sense to you but the point is: Once a month is not enough

Hope that answered your question :)

also, just because staff is employed, doesn't mean they stay with the company for life.

staff is always a revolving door

And, also the pilots already hired need to train sometimes to keep their professionalism and licences and to practice emergiencies.

Indeed. If i am a pilot working for Cyprus Turkish Airlines (a small company) and someone offers me a position in Emirates, i would be out of there before anyone realized it ^^
