Title: Stopover flights
Post by: JoeAcid69 on April 27, 2012, 05:42:06 PM
When opening a route with technical or refueling stopover, I noticed that only the stopover is taken in one direction. In the so-called Leg1 then the flight is to be found with a stopover. But what is on the return flight? Appears in the route Leg 2, but has no stopover. How can I adjust or change the Leg 2?
example:
Leg 1: SAEZ - GVAC - LEMD
Leg 2: LEMD - SAEZ
Leg 1 details:
6:00 to 17:20, SAEZ - GVAC, 3699 NM (refuel only at GVAC)
19:20 to 02:00, GVAC - LEMD, 1744 NM
Leg 2 details:
05:00 to 14:20, LEMD - SAEZ, 5442 NM

You have to enter the stopover for the return flight as well in the route opening screen.

When you enter the first stopover, you have to click on the link between departure and arrival airport. When you selected an arrival airport, the same link becomes visible under the arrival airport screen. Click there, and enter the same airport.

Thanks nice, but i still dont know how to make it. Better to say, i dont know why the backflight didnt want to take the stopover, as i did it you advice.
Has someone an answer for it?
Did i have to create first a new route, before i close the route i want to change?
And why is there about stopovers no manual?

I try it with another flight. Its not working like you advice. Its impossible to create a Leg 2 with an stopover!
Can you tell step by step, how to create it?
       2. select first stopover
       .... and so on
Maybe i can see where my mistake is.

Okay... I made a step by step guide now :)

First you select your destination airport (red circle) (in the example I will select KLAX)

(https://www.airwaysim.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg259.imageshack.us%2Fimg259%2F158%2Fstep1ph.png&hash=0775762b4440915ef692c116d1ce3e9f8f8bf09c)

Then you click to deploy the outbound stopover and look for an appropriate airport, for the example I chose KICT (Wichita Mid Continent Airport). (see red circle)

(https://www.airwaysim.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg585.imageshack.us%2Fimg585%2F2169%2Fstep2f.png&hash=48ff88131f0890de39d9f2d0688da5f45c59c7b8)

After you accepted that one, you scroll down a bit and deploy the stopover selection for the second stopover, below your selected final destination. (red circle)

Now you select that airport as well (by clicking either the green tick on the right side, or the code on the left side (see red circles)

Check again, if everything is as you want it to be (Black Box) and click on confirm route on the right side (red circle) if it is okay.

I hope it helps :)

For what it's worth, the new way of doing this is better than the old way which generated even more questions and problem.  The one thing that'd be an improvement would be a tickbox for "Add this stopover also for the return leg", to avoid the extra step. Having said that, it IS good to be able to have a different stopover in each direction under certain circumstances.

Thank you for the Step by step manual. Its exsactly i did it before.
Now i find the mistake.
If i would like to select the second stopover, I can't confirm this stopover because no
confirm botton is there!!
I dont know if this is a game compatible program problem with Win7 home premium (64bit) and the new IE for it, or whatever.
Even F5 didnt work.
Realy wired is, that the back flight is working without stopover.
I'm speechless and wondering.
Anyway thank you for helping!

Yes it would be a good idea with the "tickbox"!

Now i find the mistake.

The botton i need to confirm the Leg 2 stopover, is all the way down under at the end if i scroll down.
I guess it is a program incompatibility with the IE or other new program.
Now i know it and can sleep in peace

Nah it is all the way down on opera as well... It is just that way, because it is the flight AFTER reaching the destination, thus being listed after it. Nonetheless, I second to Gary's idea, to get such a tickbox...

maybe you should do a Ft. Req.?!

cheers,
