Isnt it a little bit strange that its possible to cancel an order for a new aircraft, but impossible to change it from Operational lease to direct buy?
Is that logical?
You can change it, expect if the plane is being delivered shortly.
It is to be deliver in 8month..
So its to short for changing to direct buy, but not to short to cancel it..
It seems indeed weird, but since you receive a penalty for canceling it gets a (little) more logic...
in additional to the question first at hand, if you change a new plane lease to be direct purchase instead, will there be any penalty fees invovevd in this?

Not really, it used to be (but seems fixed by now) that you just had to pay the actual price of the plane, and not its price when you placed the order. Normally the ahead payed lease fee (5 mth) is calculated into the price.
