I just had something happen that I've never seen before.
An aircraft was grounded for flying with an expired C-Check despite me having them automatically scheduled. I've had warnings before for missed B-checks (usually when another manual check was done at the same time) but not this. So now I have a 19-point hit on my CI for doing nothing wrong.
So... how are automatic C and D checks executed? Does/should the aircraft always go on the exact date? What if it's already in, say, a B-check? Doesn't the system take this into account? How long before it tries again to do the C-Check?
And how much leeway is there on ramp checks? How overdue does it have to be before you get caught? I thought it was several weeks (with a random factor thrown in too).
This one obviously slipped-through, but I'm just interested if anyone else has had this.
Was your cash negative by any chance?
Nah, I checked the obvious stuff. Everything's in good order and I have over a billion cash!
