Title: About route times
Post by: Absolutis on January 31, 2012, 02:40:56 PM
Will overnight routes (e.g. 2245-0625) perform similarly than earlier routes (e.g. 0845-1625)

If the flights depart at or before 2355 and arrive at or after 0500, they will perform as well as any other route. If the flights arrive between 0000 and 0455 but depart between 0500 and 2355, there will be some varying decline in LF (based on route distance, competition, etc.) but your routes should still be profitable. If routes depart between 0000 and 0455 but arrive between 0500 and 2355, there will be a slightly greater LF hit than the above example, but again, flights should be profitable. Lastly, if flights both depart and arrive between 0000 and 0455, you can expect a 40-60% LF penalty. These flights might still be profitable depending on aircraft, competition, and other factors, but keep the plane flying. If you schedule these, remember that if it is a choice between a $500 profit on the route with a 35% LF or the plane sitting idle, fly the route. That minimal profit is free money as you are already paying for the plane and all associated costs!
