How does one get away from such high maintenance costs? Do I have to schedule the B check on the week that its due? I seem to be getting charged way too much on weekly basis when I have the B check permanently scheduled on Route Schedule...
Permanently scheduled?
B checks only need to be done once a month.
Your maintenance costs can't be reduced except by buying newer and/or more aircraft (and then it is a relative decrease). They are the cost of business. The bigger problem you have is that you can't make money in a regular AWS gameworld using planes with 20 or fewer seats. Its been tried by amongst the most experienced of players -- Swiftus for instance documented the attempt extensively (check the forum logs for his blow by blow account). I'd re-consider your strategy.
Thanks guys, I'll try that ;)

I'm making tons of money (5-7% profit margin per quarter, or 3m/year) with eight 18 seaters in DoTM, which interestingly was my first attempt of an airline in a regular AWS world, and I made quite a few mistakes in the beginning. So it is possible after all, even without perfect play.
Ive used the Fairchild Metro III before and it didn't kill me, though only as a side project.
