Interesting that little fact..decriminalize pot, and you don't get a country of pot heads. It sort of kills the arguement most gov'ts put forth of creating nations of druggies...I don't really use any type of narcotics anymore, but I'd much rather see it legal. They talk about 'gateway' drugs..well no s***...if you go to buy some weed and a dealer has some some heroin on sale..Anyway, I've been high on a few flights. I pulled the short one, so had to take the HeadShot... coughed through 3 lessons, until I was sent home ill, to not disturb the lesson anymore ;D

Oh come on, that's not fair. Their punctuality has improved bigtime in the past few years. I travel a lot (enough to make a MobilityBahnCard 100 pay off) and I can count the times my train has run late in the past year on a single hand (that includes winter).

Obviously you travel through the S-Bahn system of Munich which is underground LOL...
Haven't used a train since February (since I got my car ;D :P ) but before that, traveled every 2 weeks to my dad and back, and he already came to the station 10 mins later than planned, because the train was ALWAYS 10 mins late at the arrival place. For the years 2005-2011, I had maybe three positive exceptions, and a good dozen of negative ones (20mn +).... same for the return trip...
So, I stick to what I said :P
Well true, the trains sometimes come in late, but most trains have bumper windows now with longer standing times in the stations that just get reduced to eliminate delay, which works pretty well.
What IS indeed worrying is the behaviour of DBs employees when there is some kind of suicide or other accident. They just go heads over heels and don't know what to do. There seems to be absolutely no fixed workflow for those cases. There would be if DB had accepted my consulting offer, but I guess Burson Marstellers name was bigger than my firms ability.

I am a pilot with Aerlingus. I fly their A330-300s from Dublin (Capital of Ireland) to KJFK, KORD, KBOS.
Somehow I have a hard time believing this ... :P
Do you have EPR or N1? How about, do you ever use ELAC, FGAT, or TRK/FPA?
N1 as in N1 thrust control? EPR as in Engine Pressure Variation? Yes I do have them. And I yes, I do use ELAC. On LH routes I use TRK/FPA but on SH it is basically pointless because TRK/FPA keeps your plane on the FPT (Flight Plan Track) and on shorthaul you really just climb, cruise, descend line up for ILS and by following the FP it would be time consuming. :)
Aerlingus
We also do use ELAC because it is built in with our aircraft as we have an all airbus fleet.
Hah, so you really are not a pilot then. ;D
(for instance, there is no such thing as FGAT and rest of the acronymes you just googled, since you obviously had no clue of their real usage.. Amusing  )
I never said anything about FGAT and there is TRK/FPA it keeps your plane on the exact Flightplan you have programmed. Any more questions? :-\
Nice way to edit your initial reply after I proved you wrong,. I saw what you posted, lol.
(but even the edit does not hide the fact that your reply's "facts" have nothing to do with real Airbus operations.. I know btw.
For example, you do not have both epr and n1 on the same plane, which of course you did not know, but claimed to "have" both. Or your ridiculous explanation on trk/fpa, or how you "use" elac.. Hahah!)
I know I edited the FGAT out, I wrote it because you said do you use FGAT? Any questions :P
This is quite funny, arguing about the fact that I dont fly planes when I do.
Seriously though any more questions to verify I am a pilot. Its kind of annoying that the lead developer who made this amazing game doesnt believe anything I say. And BTW everything you said there apart from FGAT is used in Airbus's day to day and other planes aswell.
You do realise that Aerlingus have more than one plane :P I never said N1 and EPR were on the same plane and you just contradicted yourself:

In defense of Aerlingus: I know for certain he's an Airbus pilot. Just last week we were both talking about the importance of FGAT when our paths crossed at the Fantasyland airport. We were both talking about how fun it is flying magic pixies, gnomes and unicorns.
Sorry, I wouldn´t have been that harsh if I only knew that before !

(for instance, there is no such thing as FGAT and rest of the acronymes you just googled, since you obviously had no clue of their real usage.. Amusing  )
dicted
You JUST said there is no such thing as EPR, N1 and ELAC
No, he said that you Googled EPR, N1 and ELAC. And seriously, there is no reason to lie about being a pilot and then defend it like this. You aren't fooling anyone.
may I suggest we drop this issue about who is, or isnt, a pilot?
Or I'll have to tell the very long, dull and inconclusive tale of my adventures with a goat, in a bath of syrup... in the dark... and, my friends, we really do not want to go there... do we?
Yes, we should drop it. But we should stay being on guard to prevent forums being taken over by trolls /fakers.
Wow you guys are nice and btw i went to trinity college in Ireland and then moved down to an avation college in cork. My english isnt bad its different when you are writing on the internet
Bruhahahaa.... Yes, usually we are very nice. But we can turn pretty sore if someone believes we are stupid.
So give it a break already.

This is something that wonders me every single time. Some people from US, Canada and so on seem to have terrible writing, don't you guys have trained that for your entire life?

Yes, many train their whole life to write badly, and they get very good at it, dont they?
Lol
That is very funny considering i am from ireland, not Canada nor the US.
Seriously though, who takes there time punctuating their sentences and looking for grammatical mistakes? Oh jolly good! Look at me! I am a snobby nosed person who has nothing to do except to play AWS alllllll day long! Yes bring in the champagne please. Mother! Oh mooooootherrrrrr guess what! What is it my son? I just bought an airplane! Oh... Um im so pleased for you son. Thats just how all boys/men should be! Playing AWS for their whole life! Jolly good! Ahahah.

Anyway, I'm also "Intermodal freight relocation specialist", as timmn2002 said it in fancy way earlier, just to bring this topic back to its purpose again.
Oh ok
Sorry everyone for my behaviour earlier, please do excuse me. I have had a VERY bad day! :)
I had a bad day at the office, and no, i am not a pilot even though i would so love to become one.
My real job:
I own a company that makes documentaries/programmes for irish television. Slightly less ambitious than a pilot!:)

Grow up, lad and dont be such an arrogant twat : I'm an ill-educated cockney, no college or university or any of that education that you enjoyed. I try to write well, with fairish grammar and half-way decent punctuation because the internet is not 'English' : its international, and most users do not have English as a first language, so its only polite that we at least try to stay within the basic rules of written English and not assume all are at ease with txtspeak or parochial slang.
And if you think playing AWS is such a waste of time, then depart, leave, go forth and multiply and we will miss you, oh, how we shall miss you but we shall be content that you, at least, will have got a life.

I'm an university student and also have my own sole propietorship, developing 3D Models for Flight Simulator etc. Currently primarily for the consumer market, with the current project I'm hoping to also get into the professional market. :)
Next to studying and having a part time job I now started my own company together with a professor. It's called www.Ticketspy.nl What we do is keeping students and young urban professionals up to date about flash deals in aviation and holiday's. Our innovative part is that we also decided to publish articles with tips or insight on how to travel more comfortably or explaining something like yielding.
The site is in dutch, but if you have any feedback on the lay out or anything let me know :)

HA HA HA HA HA LOL, epic!
I know nothing about the CRJs, except "everyone" says they bankrupt the airline. So that leads me to the fact that you cannot be a pilot, at least an employed one. If we believe what certain longtime AWS player says of those planes at least. ;D

Inventory Control for a massive warehouse with two rail spurs in addition to being designed for flat beds to drive right in on the former site of the Sparrow's Point, Maryland (Baltimore Harbor) shipyards that were prominent in WW2. And yes, the loss of that bridge which was the beautiful highlight of my daily commute (since our entire civilization is based on car ownership) has messed everything up.
Very early in the morning I can get there in about 40 minutes when it used to be possible in 32 but if I work a later shift it's over an hour and getting home is about the same. Meanwhile ours and all the other trucks coming out of that highly industrial peninsula now have to barrel through downtown Dundalk and brave the Baltimore traffic as our quiet bypass will be gone for years to come.
I still greatly enjoy as a logistics nerd when rail cars arrive, when a ship docks at the neighboring terminal (the only one never effected by the collapse), and how we are directly below a main approach to BWI. Every time it gets loud and looks big it's an Amazon 767... I love FlightRadar24 and MarineTraffic. I miss watching the ships pass underneath as I'm now stuck in the tunnels.
