Title: Red Eyes
Post by: TranceAvia on December 07, 2011, 05:09:03 AM
So, a quick one. Do redeye sectors work. I.e. where you have enough demand (lets say 100) and you sell 50 seats per day on the route you operate alone but the flight is in the middle of the night. Does it ever make money?

In my experience, LF is still reasonable as long as you get the plane into the air for the return route before midnight. People don't seem to care how late/early they land. After midnight, even on a decent route, you are probably looking at 30% LF.

General Rule of AWS:

1.  Pax prefer to Take Off or Land Before 2300 and after 0500 local time.
2.  Pax are willing to Take Off or Land between 2300 and 0000 but not as much as #1.
3.  Avoid Take off or Landing between 0000 and 0455.
