Title: Does Departure Time affect LoadFactor?
Post by: Obeewan on January 12, 2009, 12:05:47 AM
I am wondering if i have a flight depart my home base at 8am, and the same identical flight depart at 2am, will one have a different load factor because of the outrageously early departure time?

Yes it does, quite much even.

Best times are early morning 06-08 and afternoon/evening 15-20.

Well, there was one route where I were alone, and my overnight route was better than the morning one.
Now I have 3 rotations to one airport in the day and the afternoon one is better than both morning and evening one.
And whats interestiong, the morning one, where I have no competition, is weaker than the evening one where I have competition, so I dunno, how does it really work. Ticket prices the same on all 3 flights on that route.

if you mean the jfk-bos route .. they are all giving pretty same results, only +/- 3-5 pax which is normal daily randomness .
