Title: Standard Widebody Seating
Post by: swiftus27 on July 11, 2011, 12:21:23 PM
Why do many widebodies come with Standard-Premium-Standard seating setups?  It just doesn't make any sense to me.   Premium business is basically First Class standard.  Also it takes up a ton more room.

Also distorts the advertised range of the aircraft by doing this - if you change the configuration from premium to standard business you lose some range which means you might not be able to fly to the destinations you intended.

In addition, I think that when you reconfigure your airplane in the configuration page, there should be a way to know the projected range the airplane is gonna have. Currently we only can guess it by looking at the weight/range graphic wich sometimes is hard to do, specially in larger planes.

I have been begging for new graphs.  Those are just impossible to read/understand.

The problem with that is that different engines will have different ranges...  So it is not just 1 figure...

Would you recommend the standard seating across all classes for long routes in any case?

As the seating manufacturer devliers aircraft, yes. If one needs premium setting or other uncommon things he could reconfigure it...

However, the current seating makes it necessary to reconfig the extreme money making long-haul aircraft and stops airlines a bit from skyrocking too unrealistic.

I don't think it is intended, but the result is important for current game flow.
