Title: Delays-time between routes
Post by: atlflytguy on July 11, 2011, 04:53:42 AM
When scheduling flights does the time between routes effect delays or just the turn time between the two flights in a route?  For example after scheduling a flight on an aircraft and it now says the a/c can depart at 1300 do I need to add extra time just like when Im scheduling a turn to bring the chance of delay down or can it depart at 1300 safely with out the chance of a delay.

Thanks, JetGO

Yes, it does. Better add that extra time.

You want to make it so you delay drops to less than 4%, I usually go with less than 1%. Those delays reflect negatively on your Company Image and can lead to cancellations, which have an even worse effect on it.

I always schedule my turn times so that they are less than 1%-1.8%  I was curious about the time between routes when creating the a/c's schedule.  Wasn't sure if it needed to be scheduled the same amount of time or if I could use the "can depart at" time and not incur any delays.
