Title: Your Favourite Aviation Quotes
Post by: Pilot Oatmeal on June 09, 2011, 06:01:46 PM
Whats your favourite aviation quotes?

Here's one of mine from the movie Up in the Air.

"The stars will wheel forth from their daytime hiding places; and one of those lights, slightly brighter than the rest, will be my wingtip passing over. "

Enjoy,

J. Oates

I'd like to be the first to take from Airplane!

Roger Murdock: Flight 2-0-9'er, you are cleared for take-off.
Captain Oveur: Roger!
Roger Murdock: Huh?
Tower voice: L.A. departure frequency, 123 point 9'er.
Captain Oveur: Roger!
Roger Murdock: Huh?
Victor Basta: Request vector, over.
Captain Oveur: What?
Tower voice: Flight 2-0-9'er cleared for vector 324.
Roger Murdock: We have clearance, Clarence.
Captain Oveur: Roger, Roger. What's our vector, Victor?
Tower voice: Tower's radio clearance, over!
Captain Oveur: That's Clarence Oveur. Over.
Tower voice: Over.
Captain Oveur: Roger.
Roger Murdock: Huh?
Tower voice: Roger, over!
Roger Murdock: What?
Captain Oveur: Huh?
Victor Basta: Who?

My favorite (true story experience)

I was on the taxiway to runway at jean Lesage arport, Quebec.

Was windy, not too much but still you had to play with the pedals to remain on track.

Tower" Cessna 172 on taxiway, please slow down to let Air Canada Dash8 go through"
Us "Roger, slow down and let the Air Canada plane go through. Just for info, where is the Dash ? can't see it"
Tower "Cessna 172SP, hold short and please report the Air Canada Dash on taxiway on sight"
Us " hold short, Sorry, Dash still not in sight. please give us details on its position."

Tower "Air Canada Dash, please report Cessna 172SP on sight on taxiway".
Dash "sorrry, can"t see them either, we've stopped in the meantime to make sure we don't run into them"

Tower "nevermind, my colleague forgot to put on its glasses. he was looking at the birds next to the fuel tank... Everyone please proceed with taxiing".
