Title: The E-Jets.
Post by: Pilot Oatmeal on April 20, 2011, 01:59:02 PM
I was wondering if anyone is making a nice profit using these jets?  specifically the smaller series ( 170/175)

I currently use the 195s and I'm having difficulty getting a good profit on them so Im just wondering  :-\

Thank you
J. Oates :)

Had an airline with ERJ-145s and 170s and worked fine. Though it was a domestic carrier in Norway with lots of pax to fly.

Running a regional is of course the matter of stretching every buck, like in real life too.

He means that every single passenger counts. You need to plan and operate your aircraft as efficient as possible since profit margins are very low.

In MT3 I had a fleet of E170s in Brazil and each earned 500k. They had 4 to 5 flights a day though, but still quite impressive for the fuel sailing at USD900. The best thing about them is that they could run the competition out pretty quickly.
E190/5 are no worse either!

It's tight but possible (my own experience). Fly at least 4 times a day and you'll manage to get some profit, even with fuel ~1000USD. Don't forget to fly business class if you have demand, and always compress your Eco seating, as you're likely to be flying relatively short routes (if you respect that 4x a day rule).
