I asked to join one alliance, denied, no reason given.
I actually joined another one, only to be kicked from it a day later, no reason given.
It is beginners world, last I looked, some help would be appreciated.
Right now, alliances are mainly for social reasons; to connect people and give them a forum to discuss things in private. Alliances do provide a small bonus to pax, though.
Alliances are managed by other members in the game world, and it is up to them to decide who is in their alliance and who they let in. It is of course not of good manner to not tell why they have kicked/rejected you, but on the other hand there's no rule that says they have to do that.
You could add a feature request requesting to add a comment box when kicking/rejecting applicants to easier let them know of the reason, as right now, the only way to contact you is by forum pm.
I don't know the reasons that you are having a hard time, but it might have something to do with the airlines worth. Last I looked at you it was -6 mill. that wont help any alliance's score as far as I know

Won't particularly hurt it either.
In MT4, my worth is -75 million, and I still have the best airline at OMDB.
Worth is interesting in this game, since it is really just a raw balance sheet number, not the actual valuation of the airline.
It is easy to have -100M worth but have a hugely profitable airline, just one that is growing very fast.
