Airbus lost 10 X A380 from order books but see what they got in return.

A32X NEO a runaway success.

They needed an order like that dearly to solidify the A320neo.

Plus, they also ordered 33 737s. They (ILFC) were holding out for the NEO announcement before they ordered more A320s (they didn't want to get stuck with lots of 'last gen' aircraft). While it's a decent sized order, it's partly a result of them not having ordered narrow body Airbuses for a while (while they waited for NEOs to be offered).
