I see this line entry in my expenses but could not find a detailed explanation of it in the manual. These fees leaped dramatically for me after I commenced a new route to Canada from the US and I would like to learn how they are based if someone can direct me to the relevant information source.

Slots costs are included in navigation fees, so they jump up when new routes are launched. When no new routes are added, the fees will fall back to a steady level proprtional to the number of routes you fly.
