Incredibly slow getting into aws
slow is not the word
So you are having issues as well?
The mobile version is a little better but not much. Taking forever to load.
I am loading just fine from the USA
I'm having no issues here downunder in Australia
No issues at our end but I've received reports of this.
Where are you located? and can you ping airwaysim.com, nebula.fi and for example iis.se...
Status from KCLE (okay, 8 nm away)
TO AIRWAYSIM.COM
0% loss, ping avg 187ms
TO NEBULA.FI
0% loss, ping avg 174ms
TO VOLVO.SE
100% loss, no packets received
(try iis.se instead)
And the users who have reported issues are using bellsouth (?) ISP. Or two at least, not sure of acfly as he's connected via mobile at the moment.. But I'd suppose this is ISP issue or something wrong in their routing or something similar.
I'm in Denver on a Qwest T1 and having the same issues since yesterday mid-day. Very slow to load pages, having to refresh constantly. very frustrating. :-\
Status from KIAD (5 miles away):

TO IIS.SE

I use Verizon FiOS.
I'm in USA and having this problem too. Pages won't load and "cannot find page" comes up often. All other website are working fine, just not AWS.
I'm on a PC at home or work (different computers) today and yesterday in US. the whole site is barely functional. I can get about 2 screens and then it hands up or says page not found. for example, trying to move a flight from a dc-8 to a 767 is impossible. the flight I was working on is in limbo now. off the dc-8 but I can't schedule it.
I'm not having problems with any other websites, just this one.
Please do the ping I requested a few messages back.
(And also tell the name of your ISP too)
(also this is probably the only site in this area (or Europe?) you are accessing.. thus it may seem that the problem would be in our end but seems not to be. Appears that the ping to our ISP is as slow as to our particular machine ... but have to find where it is in between the two points then)

You're using Bellsouth too, so that's 3 users from the same ISP already.
Plus two from others. In other words it seems that the ROUTING between your location and our is broken (or actually only partly working, not totally broken) and this causes the packet loss. It's not related to our ISP or your ISP, but to the routing between the two. And it may span to many ISP's since they may use the same routing.

How do I do your ping test?
http://www.mediacollege.com/internet/troubleshooter/ping.html
I'm on Windstream (former Alltel) in NC, USA and I'm having issues as well. I'm having the same issues with my mobile phone through both 4g (Clearwire) and 3g (Sprint) connections.
doing a ping -t and letting it run for a bit on my home box results in a 20-25% packet loss.
The sim is pretty much unplayable here.
Doing a tracert back to airwaysim, it seems that the packets start dropping on the telia.net network. I've repeated this a few times and the results are consistant with below:

Using ATT Bellsouth and having a really difficult time playing. All my other internet use is fine
When we are tracing from here to some of your IP's, it seems that the routing at Bellsouth is breaking up instead ... But we're investigating.
But as mentioned already before; since this isn't anything to do with us or our ISP or servers we cannot do anything about it.. But our ISP may be able to reroute something.
I think the issue is with teliaSonera.
I did the trace test (tried print sceen but too small) if someone know how to copy I can put whole thing.
Everything is fine till here:

please do a traceroute to see where the packet loss is.
thanks for checking...need to head out now. I did a couple more tracerts...this is what I'm getting now consistently...looks like the breakdown is somewhere between ATT (owns bellsouth and SBC/Ameritech) and Telia.

(thanks for the info to get to the DOS screen...[un]fortunately I'm old enough that I do know how to use DOS so I guess I have residual computer skills...it's like riding a bike...hopefully the ISPs can figure out where the breakdown is :))
I recently switched from Verizon to Comcast, and now AWS has gotten noticeably slower, to the point of not loading sometimes..
I'm based in Nashville, USA and yes having real issues.....

As long as you're not executing the command in a protected system folder, you can pipe the results to a text file.
For example:
tracert airwaysim.com > tracert.txt
When it finishes running, you'll have a text file with the results.
I agree the issue seems to be with telia, but I'm guessing they are one step removed from the AWS ISP. My path is going from winstream to level 3 to telia to AWS...
FYI, I emailed to our ISP and the msg has been forwarded to their network team for investigation. But no idea if they work on weekends.
In any case these issues are always only temporary.
I ran a traceroute....
It takes 24 hops to get to you. Wow.
I was experiencing some packed loss... avg went to 178ms and lost 25%
Ping results ..
Request timed out
25% loss
Round trip time:Average = 154ms
Ok, now it seems to me affecting me as well (last 2 days approx). Ping result:
Packets: Sent = 100, Received = 85, Lost = 15 (15% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 119ms, Maximum = 163ms, Average = 124ms
ISP is RoadRunner (Time Warner Cable). New York City.
My TraceRt shows the same problem TeliaSonara. I had to do TraceRt several times to get the entry #13, which is where the breakdown seems to be - consistently.

Telecommunications provider in the Nordic and Baltic countries, offering mobile and fixed network services. Also a major ISP.

Any IT guru know how to use a Proxy server to get around this issue?
For me, it looks like every 3 pages results in a loss connection.. so it is taking a incredibly long time just to do things in airways sim..
Indeed seems to be TeliaSonera who's lagging here. I've googled around and SEVERAL other sites have reported of the same too.

so it's not ATT/Bell south.. would this mean that everyone is having this issue, and it's not limited to southern USA?
No, just the ISPs who route their traffic via Telia. And only from US apparently.
What i got from Montreal, Canada with Videotron service. it's slow but not have difficulty to load pages.

This morning things have improved greatly ;D
Not for me... is worst this morning... i need to wait couple of time for the page load... and worst when i ask some with map that show up only 1 time every 3-4 try... and lot of time is the map or antartica.
