Title: Engine Options
Post by: BavarianAir on January 16, 2011, 01:14:44 PM
Hello everybody,

I just noticed something interesting in the game world Jet Age #3, but I think this is also an issue in all other scenarios.
I was thinking about ordering some 737-200Adv.s and was surprised by the engine options I could choose from. For the 732Adv the game offers the following options (game world date early Sep 1968, the a/c is scheduled to become available in Jul 1969):

1. PW JT8D-15   (FAA Certification date: Apr-7-1971)
2. PW JT8D-15A (Jan-26-1982)
3. PW JT8D-17   (Feb-1-1974)
4. PW JT8D-17A (Jan-26-1982)
5. PW JT8D-17R (Apr-29-1976)

I know that the game varies the launch dates for aircraft by about +-2 years, but I think I shouldn't have that much of a choice at the beginning of the B732 program. I haven't seen this on other planes (since I wasn't looking for) but I think this is not the only one with this "issue". I don't think that's a problem but maybe it would be a nice addition for future game versions, to make the advanced engine types available at a later point in time.

What do you think?

In the next game version, v1.3, engines will be released following the real life dates as explained in this post (https://www.airwaysim.com/forum/index.php/topic,26356.msg136776.html#msg136776).

So your wish is granted  ;D

Picking up from my post in the bugs forum, do you need data for the various models? I've discovered that the A310-300 has additional options not included in the current data basem s does the 777-200LR.
