I've noticed that if you have a plane with regular configuration and say your LF with it is 85%. But if you get the same plane and fly it on the same route with no competition your LF just goes down to say 80% with high density. So theoretically, high density seating is pointless unless your getting 100% seating with regular seating. And if that isn't the case and high density has same LF as regular then why do more people get onto a less comfortable plane?
IT depends on a number of factors. I have many aircraft flying around with HD seating on routes up to 2000nm and loads are great--mid 80's to low 90's-- but break the 2000nm barrier and LF's on aircraft with HD seating plummet like a rock.

What I'm wondering is what the point of getting high density is if you can't get 100% with regular seating.
Of course there's absolutely no point at all in putting in more seats if you can't fill up the plane with less seats.
