Title: A quick question about maintenance staffing
Post by: Glob-Al on September 29, 2010, 03:22:23 PM
Apologies if I've missed the answer to this somewhere.

I currently have all 27 aircraft in my fleet set up to A check in the middle of the night on a Saturday, with B checks also on Saturday as this is when route demand is lowest. However it suddenly occured to me that this may mean I need to employ more maintenance staff than I would if I spread out the A & B checks (since logically if they're all happening at the same time one person can only do one aircraft a week, but if I did half the fleet the next night he could look at two planes per week). Is this something that the simulation takes into account?

While logical, this sim is nowhere near that yet.

I put all of my B checks on Saturday or Wednesday.  If this were true in real life, I would have to hire a ton of part time maint crew as my A checks are the same day as well.

My question is : Do you want it to be? Micromanaging your way thru the game? I just started the other day, so maybe you pro's are already 'bored' with the game, and know how to play it, can't tell. I know that I already have my hands full, and (at this time) don't look forward to scheduling checks and maintenance personnel...
