Title: loan ratings
Post by: [ATA] APB Airlines on July 20, 2010, 03:40:41 PM
How do i get my rating above a B? Do i have to stop buying planes? Or does it just take a couple of years of good performance? my quarterly rev is around 1.2 billion i dont really turn quarterly profits because i buy planes but i am almost always on the black. (had a little episode when i open a new base i miss calculated how much i needed so i was red for maybe a month about 6 months ago)

You dont get a top tier credit score simply by having good credit for a year or two.  This applies in real life and in this game.

Its not like it really matters, anyone good with money in this game will earn much more than they will ever pay in interest.

I went through the same episode - of opening a new base, being shocked by expenses, closing it, firing stuff, suffering CI drop of some 40 points, morale drop of remaining employees, some from 100% to 20s, then, as a result of low morale of stuff, cancelation of flights, lower LF - and of course lower credit rating (since I was going into red with the new base)...  It may have taken 6 to 9 months or more of game time to recover from the misguided episode of opening a new base (before I was really ready for it).

Regarding credit rating, it generally depends on revenue, profitability and assets (shown in Company Value).  Mine climbed, over time to AA.  I think it is mainly due to accumulating some aircraft (that I own).

Of the 2 types of aircraft that I get, I decided to purchase those that have much shorter lead time.  This way, the down payments are not tied up for years.  Currently, the down payments for planes dissappear from the company value, and only re-appear when the a/c is delivered.
