Title: PAX demand, imaginary or downscaled realistic?
Post by: shutupiamdreaming on July 20, 2010, 12:31:45 AM
Is the PAX demand in the game imaginary or based on realistic figures and then downscaled to match the number of participants in the gameworlds?

The reason I'm asking, is because I thought about simulating Icelandair, based at BIFK. When looking in the route planning module in the beginners world, estimated daily demand is 120 pax / day in 1995. According to Eurostat, 195402 passengers flew EKCH - BIFK in 1995, which gives 535 pax / day.

I'd btw. like to state that this is by no means a complaint, just a simple question :)

Some routes are based on real world demand, but AFAIK the majority of routes are 'made up' / calculated depending on airport size and Airport type.

If you have some real life passenger demand statistics, send them in to Sami and he'll (hopefully) implement them. :)
Demand from several cities to Keflavik is waaay too low!
