Title: winter delay
Post by: flydreamer on June 30, 2010, 10:19:54 AM
i have a very bad flights punctuality lately, from about 97% and now it reaches 90%.
and, 67% of the delays (more than 12000mins!) are caused by airport weather condition.
are you guys having the same situation with me?
is it really caused by winter weather condition?
does winter delay can cause this unusually huge delay?

In the old JA2 I based at RJAA, the weather delay can be as high as 70% of total number ;)
but I know there are very strong cross wind in winter and summer can have typhoon at that airport, so that's what I expected......

For me I think that's a bit high but should be normal ;) I remember I've a record of 22000mins delay at that week, that come from a fleet of a 200+ planes

ZSAM is along with the south east coast of China, so you can expect trouble from typhoon at summer. In winter the weather should be fine but your majoy routes to Bejing or Northern part of China can be your main cause of delay because of snowing

It hit me again this year game. I play in ATB and it is January 08 there. I have 106 cancellations because of weather out of 5512 flights per week. And the delay reach 20059 minutes this year, with punctuality slightly above 90%. Anyone of you have same condition with me?

This happens to me too. Almost all of my flights are within Scandinavia where you'd obviously expect some poor weather in winter.

Currently 66.5% of delay minutes due to weather (18,000+) and 61% of cancellations (106).
